Today we had a lot of
fun! We were the first delegation of the day, we didn’t wake up on time and we
were in charge of waking everybody so the whole camp was late for flag time. We
had a good breakfast with cereal and bread and we had an amazing lunch because
it was rice and meat with a good sauce, we missed eating this kind of food with
rice and a lot of flavor; this is something we normally eat in Costa Rica. For
dinner we had a Little bit of soup and then during delegation time we went to a
place called Hesburger that is like a McDonalds but we liked it more and it was
created in Turku so that was very cool and we liked the food. When we were
walking back to the school Nanne and Vale were super excited and laughing.
All the activities
were a lot of fun, the first one was called “first impressions“ and what we did
was writing our first impression about each other nice things on a paper that
was on our backs, then we made paper planes and wrote our names and threw them
in the air and then we had to pick one up and find the person it belonged to so
we could learn all the names. After that we had the time to play a game called
chicken monster and we ran a lot and were able to play with different people.
The second activity was looking for clues of every country hidden in the
campsite and then trying to guess which country it was. After that we planted
some white and black beans in wet cotton that we are going to take care of
during camp and will be part of another activity that we will make in the last
weeks. Another thing we did was acting out our friend’s favorite things so we
could get to know each other and then we played several games like pass the
shoe, fruit salad and toaster.
We also had a fire
drill, we were all doing different things because we had free time so we
stopped what we were doing and went outside to an open place that looks like a
cage because it has a tall fence. We had to find our leader and then she
counted us and when she was sure we were all there we had to sit down.
Being delegation of
the day was a lot of fun, it was the best day! Very exciting, tiring and also Luly
(our leader) lost her voice because she was shouting all the time. It was very
cool to ask questions about Costa Rica to decide which table was going to get
food first. The other great part was choosing the songs for lullabies we sang:
Hey Jude, Hotel California, Hey There Delilah, Good Riddance, Imagine and
Daylight. One girl from Brazil named Helena played the guitar, that was very
nice.
Today was an excellent
day!! J
