Hoodies, goodies, and food for foodies!

Today we had a trading market at camp where kids bring souvenirs from their country and trade them to other kids for their souvenirs! I got a lot of things from a lot of countries. China has fans and chinese knots which were very spiritual. Mexico, Guatemala, and sometimes Brazil’s culture is very colorful. Costa Rica has lots of birds and frogs. That was my favourite thing to do today! Keep in touch!

Today was Phoebe’s birthday. At dinner we celebrated her birthday, we sang “Happy Birthday” in all of the languages we know. After we sang the song, we ate some delicious cake. The cake had jam and cream in the center and cream on top. It looked like Phoebe really enjoyed the celebration. I hope we celebrate everyones birthday like this because I had a lot of fun.

Today Mexico and Guatemala had their national nights. Mexico had dance, a chili pepper contest (winner was Spencer from the U.S.A), and a candy handout. Guatemala performed a dance, had a powerpoint, and shared some information about themselves (Mexico did as well).
