Chinese national night

8 July 2014

Capture the Flag
We played capture the flag today. It is when you have to capture or get the flag of the other team. But you 3have to be careful that you wont get tagged by the other team otherwise you will go to "jail". The team who captures the flag first wins the game.

Lice Check
In camp its important to have lice check because if one kid has lice it might spread to other kids. Lice are parasites. They suck blood from you. I got scared when it was my turn because I might have lice but it turned out I dont have so I was really happy.

National Night
The Chinese National Night was really nice. They decorated the room with paper cuts of butterflies and Chinese calligraphy. Sunny played the piano. The music was really nice and soothing. When calligraphy finished, Phoebe showed us a video about China then asked us questions and whoever answers first gets lucky Chinese money. After that David and William showed Chinese kung-fu. Then we all got to try origami with Angel, William wrote all our names in Chinese, David taught us how to use chopsticks, and Sunny showed us how to make Chinese paper cutting. In the loot bag were Chinese crackers, white rabbit, and a cute souvenir. I really like National Nights because we get to know more about different countries.

Camp Food
Camp food varies. Of course its mostly Finnish food. For breakfast we usually eat bread, ham, butter, cheese, and sometimes fruits and cereals. At home I usually eat different kinds of food like soup, rice, bread, meat, etc. For lunch, we sometimes eat pasta, salads, and soup. I miss food back home but its ok because I like salads. For dinner we usually have bread with cheese or ham. The food here is quite different because bread is very common while at home its rice.
